Lantern Making

Workshops are where you get to learn something new or just sharpen up skills. From the Circus to Yoga and everything in between.

Dance in loads of styles including Appalachian, Clog, North West Morris, Rapper Sword, Molly Dancing, Boarder Morris and the ever popular Eurodance with Kerry Fletcher.

Storytelling with Debs Newbold, Poetry writing with our resident poet Shez and "Big Sings" with Stephen Taberner of The Spooky Mens Chorale. Learn Fiddle with Kirsty Cotter, explore your singing voice work with Chris Coe or how to play The Spoons with Jo May.

......plus the now famous Towersey Lantern build!

Younger visitors also have their own tailor made workshop programme to chose from at the Children's Festival and Shooting Roots Youth Project.

If you have been to Towersey before then it is very possible you may be familiar with this man as a result of his work with the Spooky Men’s Chorale. Their great leader Stephen joins us this year all by himself to run some "Big Sings" workshops. Expect big harmonies, silly songs and spectacular energy in these workshops.

Jake Jones and Dan Eccles

Jake Jones and Dan Eccles have been dancing together now for around 5 years.  Since then they have appeared at festivals such as the A1 Festival in Peterborough, Cheltenham, Tradegar, Shrewsbury and Towersey all to good response.  They are both part of the Ryburn 3 Step organisation and both started learning with Sue Coe and then Ira Bernstein at Ira’s weeklong intensive course.  Jake started dancing before Dan and has since performed at Sidmouth, Broadstairs, Bridgnorth and Cleethorpes festivals with Sue Coe.  Dan started dancing just a few years ago and has already app

Kerry Fletcher

Kerry Fletcher is a traditional dancer of many styles, from waltzing to clogging. She is an experienced dance workshop leader and an accomplished performer.
Currently, she co-choreographs and performs with:
•JigJaw - a new band singing to dancing & dancing to singing, with Janet Russell, Rosie Davis & Frances Watt
•Circa Compania - Karen Tweed's music & dance ensemble
and guests with:

•Daughters of Elvin - Katy Marchant's medieval music & masked dance theatre
•Zoox as their foot percussionist
Her performance history includes: Broken Ankles - acclaimed Appalachian cloggers, The Stepback Project and The 4K Plot. She also co-choreographed & performed with The Chase and Shaking the Tradition at Chisenhale Dance Space, London.

Lantern Making

Paul Shez Sherreard

"Shez" is poet in residence at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital in Lambeth and works for Keats House Museum in Hampstead where he runs a programme of writing and performance workshops for all members of the community.
