2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year.   "The Victorian Farmer’s Year in Song".  In the popular TV Series "Victorian Farm" it was John Kirkpatrick who popped up now and again contributing folk songs, squeezebox tunes, dances, and snippets of information about folklore and traditional customs.  His appearances on the programme even earned him a spot on Harry Hill's TV Burp, where he was memorably attacked mid-song by the comedian with a pig under his arm!

John is widely regarded as one of the most committed champions of traditional English folk song, dance, and music.  His passion for his subject comes across in the boundless energy with which he presents his material, filling the room with music in his sparkling squeezebox playing, and delivering the songs with tremendous panache with a voice of great power, depth, and dynamic range. Here he presents a programme taking us through the year in the countryside, illustrating the highs and lows of each season, and giving an authentic voice to the old way of life.  Having spent years in numerous groups, bands, duos, and trios, John calls on his vast experience to illuminate this scintillating one man show.

"Kirkpatrick's buoyant presence and lust for this music sounds more rampant than ever."
 Colin Irwin - fRoots 2009.

JK "delivers all the boistrous bonhomie and seasonal good cheer anyone could want."
Joan Crump - English Dance & Song.

"The inventiveness and dynamism of John's playing are just as top-notch as
one has come to expect of such a perfectionist."
Mike Greenwood - Taplas - Welsh folk magazine - 2009
