The Children's Festival

Some festivals think of Children as an afterthought.  At Towersey we give them just as much thought as you big people.  Our dedicated Children's Festival directors spend the whole year putting a wall-to-wall programme together that will have your children begging to come back year after year.  We know this because it already happens!

With an even more packed programme for families and children this year at Towersey Children’s Festival giving you so much to do you’ll be able to keep trying new exciting things all weekend.

NEW THIS YEAR FOR TOWERSEY CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL!
The Rainbow - We are delighted to announce that the Towersey Children’s Festival will be even bigger this year. We will have a brand new marquee, The Rainbow, which will be open to visitors to the Showground and Season ticket holders alike and will provide a huge range of opportunities for families. Drop in and make something, do a drawing, listen to a story, join in some songs - a host of things for you to do will be happening all day.

Children’s University Passport - Any youngster enrolled with the Children’s University should make sure they pack their Children’s University Passport as several of the sessions provided over the weekend will entitle them to a stamp in their passport.

PACKED PROGRAMME FOR THE UNDER 6’S
Under 6’s are always well provide for at Towersey and this year will be no different; painting, sticking, drawing, singing and action songs, parachute games, baby reflexology, fun percussion, stories - so much to keep the little ones happy and smiling. Join in with Karen and Phil Morris’s extremely popular songs with actions (and sometimes hats!). Try our Baby Reflexology with Heather Duggins, a chance for little ones to relax and move confidently at these extra special sessions. Meet up with Towersey favourites Greg and Kay Smallbone and have a go at parachute games or join in the singing and fun percussion sessions. There will be lots of exciting things to do with paper, paint, glue (not forgetting the glitter!)  with Mini Crafts and Messy Crafts.

CRAFTS FOR EVERYONE
Cuckoo Crafts will host a massive Drop-in Creative Crafts session for families and children of all ages on Friday morning as well as running the hugely popular Mini Crafts and Messy Crafts for the under 6’s. Watch out also for craft activities in our new marquee The Rainbow. Table Top Crafts allows concentrated small group work for youngsters to produce a quality item to take away and treasure. For Crafty Fun join Geoff Court and his team provide 5-8 year olds with lots of fun and a chance to create something special to wear or carry in their mini procession.

MUSICAL FUN
The world famous Towersey Children’s Festival Ceilidh band Towzer! is always hugely popular with youngsters who own and can play an instrument. Everything from to tuba to tin whistle is catered for so bring your instruments along and be part of the Ceilidh band for the Grand Family Ceilidh on Monday afternoon. If you can’t play an instrument yet and fancy having a go why not join Ray Langton who will teach you how to play a tune on a mini melodeon (mini melodeons will be provided).

A CHANCE TO SING
Join the Towersey Children’s Festival Choir led by the amazing youth choir Stream of Sound. Sing along with Greg and Kay Smallbone and Karen and Phil Morris or help David Gibb and Elly Lucas sing their special brand of songs.
