Towersey has a long history of great storytellers and in recent years this has developed to welcome poetry in the form of workshops and our Resident Festival poet Paul "Shez" Sherreard. Look out for more developents this year as we welcome back "Shez", Poetry workshops, story telling for old and young, Theatre Surprises and who knows what else.

The Chipolatas return to Towersey with their newest presentation Gentlemen of the Road..
The Chips are celebrating 20 years this summer, and Towersey was one of their first UK festivals back in 1992…so we are is delighted to be hosting them in their birthday year! Custodians of an ever-evolving tradition, blending the old and the new, the Chipolatas continue to cross cultures and create new genres with their unique and universally-acclaimed shows.

That is The Way To Do It! is a new raucous comedy for outdoor events and street arts festivals. A life sized and alternative version of the much loved Victorian seaside entertainment; Punch and Judy return as a vehicle for hilarious satire in our anxious, credit crunched world.

Heralded as the new phenomenon to hit the world of entertainment ‘JuNk’ are 4 guys who collectively feature four elements of performing arts. Hilarious dance routines, harmonized singing, acting and immensely talented percussion are all in the repertoire that go to make up this action packed, totally interactive show.
Bins, bottles, brushes, drain pipes….. all get a makeover as these truly innovative guys will entertain, amaze and have you in stitches as they take you on a journey through their world of ‘JuNk’.

Unique, contemporary storytelling voice Debs Newbold is a performer, researcher and writer of stories, with a growing national reputation.

"Shez" is poet in residence at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital in Lambeth and works for Keats House Museum in Hampstead where he runs a programme of writing and performance workshops for all members of the community.
