Ruth Notman is an nineteen year old singer and songwriter from Nottinghamshire. In 2006, Ruth reached the finals of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and shortly afterwards signed a record deal with Mrs Casey Records.  She spent the next twelve months developing her repertoire, writing her own original music and developing tracks to be recorded for her debut album.  Threads  was released in November and is already creating quite a stir.  It has garnered some great reviews, including four star reviews in The Guardian Film & Music and Mojo,  Album of the Week in The Independent and coverage on many local radio stations as well as on Mike Harding’s BBC Radio 2 Folk show and BBC Radio 3.
