Possibly the world's only traditional english metalcore dance band, GloryStrokes bring together some well known names from the UK folk dance scene with a cataclysmic dash through their skeleton riddled musical closets. Dual melodeons, Heavy drums, Detuned guitars, Programmed beats, Samples, Weird keyboard noises and Rumbling Bass and you're left with traditional music as it hasn't been heard before, "bridging the barrier from barn dance to mosh pit".

Their first EP, "Industrial Revolution" was released in early summer 2007 to much acclaim from both the folk and alternative/metal scenes. Produced by Drummer Tom Wright, it showcased a hybrid of traditional and self penned English folk tunes mixed with Metalcore, Industrial Metal, Electronica and Post-Rock, hitherto unheard in the public domain. Coupled with this highly individual sound, GloryStrokes' live show consists of corpse paint, lights, smoke and everything you'd expect from a stadium metal band, not a Folk act. With the emphasis split equally between accuracy, showmanship and individuality, several festival performances in the summer of 2007 have secured places in the memories of audiences up and down the country (for one reason or another!).

Their performance at Warwick festival 2007 was deemed to be highlight of the festival, overshadowing artists like Seth Lakeman and Altan. They left the stage after a staggering three hour set with long time collaborator Martyn Harvey and were re-booked for 2008 before they had a chance to catch their breath!
