Breabach have to be one of the most talked about new acts on the scene.  Breabach launched their debut album on vertical records in July of 2007 and appeared at the Cambridge Folk Festival the same month. Winners of the Danny Kyle awards (Celtic Connections) they were also nominees as Best Up and coming act at the Scots Trad awards. Callum MacCrimmon is also a 2007 finalist in the BBC Young traditional Musician of the year.

Largely defined by a contemporary pipe and dance-driven sound, commended not just for their instrumental talents, but also for their sympathetic treatment of traditional songs and slower melodies. Their innovative style, blending double bagpipes, whistle, fiddle, song and Scottish stepdance, brings to the stage flare, excitement and diversity rarely seen from such a young group.

“A huge sound, bursting with energy..there will be few who can sit still when listening to these brilliant tunes. Brilliantly played.”  Living Tradition
